6 Month Checkup

Hailey had her 6 month check up and I just had to take some pics before she was given her shots...just to prove that she does like the doctor's office- just not the shots that go along with the visit! She really enjoyed looking at the baby in the mirror...what do they have a mirror in this spot for anyways??? (other than for babies to look at themself in!) :)

So, apparently Hailey needs to put on a little bit of weight...and grow a little bit! She had to get weighed and measured two times, because the doctor didn't even believe that the nurse had gotten it right the first time! (how about that for trust...) ;) But, she did get it right the first time!! The reason the doc didn't believe it was because Hailey hadn't gotten any taller in the two months that have passed since she was there last and she had gained only 1 lb! She is now 24 inches long and 13.5lbs! When she was born she was in the 20th percentile for babies and all along she had either stayed the same or she had moved a little bit, until now...now she is in the 5th percentile for weight and the 3rd percentile for height. Not too suprising, considering that her parents are both super short and on the small size. Plus, it really doesn't seem like she's super small- unless you put her next to other babies her age, then she just seems like a little tiny peanut. :) But, I think that because she is small all around- instead of just skinny that makes her seem more "normal"! I guess we shouldn't worry about it too much, but no matter what I think, as a Mom, you have to worry about it a little bit. I feel bad, because she hadn't been nursing very well lately and she had been wanting more food and I had been cutting her off, because I thought she was just eating too much!! (just shows how much I know!!) :) So, now we have to put a scoop of formula in her food each time and mix all of her foods with cereal. (I hadn't been mixing them with cereal, because I was thinking that the cereal was making her constipated...)
